Thursday March 8, 2012-International Women's day a very important day
International day is important because women along time ago were treated bad. Why we celebrate International women's day is that men and women should have equal rights because it wouldn't be fair if the other gender doesn't have rights to do something the other gender can do.
When i'm thinking about women in my life I think about my cousins that are women and my family. They all have important roles for an example my mom cooks and goes shopping and takes care of my family because she cares about my family a lot like when I get sick she makes me feel better. Another example would be that my sister. My sister helps me with my homework and helps my mom when she needs help like when my mom needs help to carry bags my sister is always here to help my mom.
When I read the newspaper I felt sorry and I thought it was unfair for women because a women has less opportunity's. But when they do opportunity's that mens do, it is strange. A long time ago women were treated awfully and when I think about it I think that men and females should be equal but also have equal rights and men and women could do the same opportunity's that men do. I kinda think that men think there the boss and they could do anything they want just because they are stronger then women but I think that women's should stand up for each other and stand up for there rights because it wouldn't be fair that men could something that women can't do.
The second newspaper I thought was ridiculous because there are only 2.6% women that are leaders in Toronto. We should change because men are getting all the power just because they are stronger then women.
Today - March 8 - is International Women's Day. Think about the women in your life and, if you're female, what it means to be a woman in today's world.
